history of feminism

Scholars and faminist have devided the faminist movements into three waves...
The first wave having took place between the nineteenth century and early twentieth century was to fight for the proper right of women. Rights that at the time only were to be claimed by men. after having fought for these rights they were given the liberty to be more productive members of society by having certain rights such as equal contracts as men do and the right to own land as well asthe opposition to chattel marriage. by the end of the nineteenth century they were fighting to obtain the right to own economic rights but more importantly the right of obtaining political power. They continued to fight and soon after were granted the right for women to vote if they were over thirty and were owners of land, shortly after in 1928 the rights were extended and seemed more lenient when the voting age was dropped to twenty one for women. Then voted by the united states the rights were given to all woman owning land or not living within the country and age was once again lowered to eighteen years old.
The second wave was different but still relevant, though having already aquired the rights in the first wave they now specialized in things like fighting to end descrimination against woman that prevented them from things like having an equal chance of being hired as a man who has same experience and applying to the same job. They also fought to get all the voices to be heard in the feminist group aboloshing the ignorance of minority voices.
The third wave beginning in the early 1990's as a response to the second waves failures and accomplished many of the things listed in the second wave to be improved or modified.
